Dr. Julia Mitcham Daniely is a native Maconite and a product of the Bibb County School District. She was born to the parentage of the late Wilbur Mitcham aka "Chef" and Annie Mae Mitcham. Dr. Daniely has 12 other siblings who have performed successfully in their careers and all have higher education degrees. She has been married to Vincent Daniely for 18 years and they have two children, Kiara and Erika, and one grandson, Javaris Jr. Understanding her call to teach and educate children, she pursued the field of education, graduating from Georgia College with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Middle Grades Education in 1994. In August of 1995, she received her Master of Education degree in Middle Grades Education: Math and Science from Fort Valley State University. Continuing to be a professional learner, she was compelled to enroll in a specialist and doctoral program. In February 2007, she completed her specialist and doctoral studies in Educational Leadership at Nova Southeastern University.

She has received numerous awards and noteworthy recognitions throughout her career. They include: Teacher of the Year twice from Miller Middle School, Wal-Mart Teacher of the Year, GSACA Afterschool Director's Award of Excellence, Georgia Council Teachers of Mathematics Roundtable Award, and Outstanding Dissertation Award for the Class of 2007. Most recently, Dr. Daniely facilitated the writing of a school improvement grant that yield a 5.3-million-dollar award for her school, the highest award to one single school in the State of Georgia and two Governor's Grant (GOSA) that yield a 700,000-dollar award each. This recognition granted her an opportunity to participate in the Beginner Principals Academy through Georgia State University. She has been a finalist for Principal of the Year in 2016 and 2018 for State of Georgia. However, none of these recognitions measure up to the many children lives that has been touched by her commitment and tireless effort to help them achieve in the classroom and life.

Dr. Daniely taught middle grades mathematics at Miller Middle School for 11 years. She was promoted to Instruction Lead Teacher where she stayed in that position for three years. Wanting to reach more students and to have a major impact on students completing high school, she became an Assistant Principal for Northeast High School for two years, then Rutland High School for a year and a half. Under new administration, she moved to the district office to become the Race to the Top Coordinator for Bibb County Schools. In this capacity, she managed a 13.3-million-dollar federal grant designed to turn low-achieving schools around.

She was the Principal of Westside Pre-Engineering Magnet High School for 6 years. In this position, she maximized her gifts and talent in leading change. Westside High School served almost 1100 students and 100 faculty/staff members. Her most critical task was to make a positive impact on the teaching and learning process, thus producing graduates with strength of character and who are college or career ready. It was her primary mission to ensure that ALL students contribute positively to this 21st century global society. Under her tenure, Westside High School was deemed a Model School for Intervention by Bill Daggett.

Dr. Julia Daniely requested to begin personalized learning programs in Bibb County designed to meet the unique needs of our students. She is pleased to serve as the new Director of Soar Academy Personalized Learning Center. It is her ultimate goal ito serve the stakeholders in our community and to ensure that students are prepared for college and careers beyond high school.
